LIHEAP will provide a one-time benefit to eligible households to be used for energy bills. The amount of the payment is determined by income, household size, and fuel type. An overdue bill or cut-off notice is not required in order to receive assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LIHEAP Start Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Please note that due to the state budget, LIHEAP dates have changed from previous years. The current dates are as followed:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>October 1, 2024- Priority period begins for households with seniors 60 or older, OR with persons receiving disability benefits, OR with a child UNDER 6 years of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>October 1, 2024- Emergency Furnace Assistance programs begins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>November 1, 2024- All income-eligible households (see income guidelines below).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To make an appointment with Jarvis Township Administrative Assistant, Mindy Hamann, you must be a resident of Jarvis Township. She can be reached by calling (618) 667-2560&nbsp; Other residents can locate their intake office by calling Madison County at (618) 296-6485.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Application Requirements:<\/strong><br><br>Your thirty (30) day income must be LESS\u00a0than:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$2,510 for a one (1) person household<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$3,407 for a two (2) person household<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$4,303 for a three (3) person household<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$5,200 for a four (4) person household<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$6,097 for a five (5) person household<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For larger household, seek additional guidelines\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.madisoncountyil.gov\/departments\/community_development\/energy_assistance_program_(liheap).php\">here<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>*Please note that due to the Federal Poverty Guidelines of 2017, the LIHEAP income guidelines have changed from previous years.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Required Documentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proof of gross income from all household members for the thirty (30) day period prior to the application date;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A copy of current heat and electric bills (if you pay for your home energy directly);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social Security Cards for of all household members;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of Medical Eligibility Card if a member of the household receives TANF assistance; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of rent if the household energy bills are included in the rent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information about LIHEAP, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.madisoncountyil.gov\/departments\/community_development\/energy_assistance_program_(liheap).php\">Madison County\u2019s LIHEAP Information site<\/a>&nbsp;or call the Madison County LIHEAP hotline at (618) 296-6485.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The&nbsp;Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)&nbsp;is designed to assist eligible low-income households to pay for winter energy services.
